You’ve heard the stories of – or perhaps experienced for yourself – the epic twin fights, the hurt when one twin seeks to individuate before the other, and the havoc twinship can cause within the family system.
There is little written about the long-term impact of parenting twins, and I’ve seen and heard enough in my professional experience to understand the responsibility we have, as twin parents, to guide our children through the twin experience.
Parenting has a deep and lasting impact on the health and well-being of your children’s twinship and their sense of self outside and within the twin relationship. As a parent of identical twins, I know, firsthand, the challenges, rewards, and responsibility of raising twins.
